SEVEN TASK: OUTLINE

MAGAZINE INFLUENCE ON BODY DISSATISFACTION

Thesis statement:

Society has had a lot of changes through the years;  even though people have become more tolerant in regards of the acceptance of the multiculturalism and diversity, stereotypes are still present in our lives, and they continue to plague our way to see the world.
Stereotypes can be presented through different forms of media, magazines are a clear example of how stereotypes are presented through visual depictions. The exposure to those magazines has created a negative impact on females because magazines use “perfect” shapes which seeks to create a misconception of beauty, and perfect bodies.
Through this paper we want to understand the damaging effects of living up to stereotypes, and the media’s role in the creation on female stereotypes.

Main ideas of each paragraph (explanation)

- The stereotype of “perfect” women's body. (Women’s dissatisfaction and body ideals)
